Hajj is Fard once in life time upon all those Muslims who have resources to perform it. Now it is not very difficult to perform Hajj as you don’t have to face hardships of travelling from long distances. Hajj is especially very easy for those people who are living in Saudi Arabia on Iqama as they don’t have to face all the hardships of travelling. Last year, Ministry of Hajj launched an online procedure to apply for Hajj for the residents of Saudi Arabia. Now, this is the only procedure to apply for Hajj as the manual procedure has been obsoleted. Today, we are going to guide you the step by step procedure to apply for Hajj from Saudi Arabia for Saudi residents. It is important to mention here that people coming to Saudi Arabia on visit visa cannot apply for Hajj using this procedure. They have to go back to their home country and apply for hajj from there.

If you are eligible to perform hajj this year, you need to start the Online Procedure to Apply for Hajj from Saudi Arabia. First step of Online Procedure to Apply for Hajj from Saudi Arabia is to open the web portal of Ministry of Hajj. You can open it through this link http://localhaj.haj.gov.sa/LHB/pages/home.xhtml  You will find details of different packages in this link. Click on the “Packages and Reservation” button, a drop down list will appear from where you need to select “Reservation Request”. You need to click on the “Go with Normal Hajj Registration”.

A new page will be opened where you need to enter the number of male and female pilgrims who want to perform hajj along with the city from which you want to perform it. Select “Normal Fare” at the end and click on submit button. It is important to mention here that children under 5 years of age don’t need Hajj permit if mother is performing hajj.

A new screen will be opened where you can find quotations from many hajj operators. In my case, 51 hajj operators are available. You can explore this data in a way you want. You can sort it on the basis of price, category, name of hajj operator. I have sorted it on the basis of Price. As you can see one company is offering minimum price of SR 6,643/-. You can click on the “Details” button to know about the facilities they are offering. If you are comfortable with it, just click on the “Book” button to proceed further.

Now you need to give all the details of the pilgrims in the given tabs. You need to fill all the fields given here. You also have to write your “Sponsor ID”. If you don’t know your “Sponsor ID”, you can get it from this link “Procedure to get Sponsor ID in Saudi Arabia”. You will also have to enter Date of Birth according to Arabic calendar. If you don’t know about it, just convert the DOB given on your iqama through any website to Hijri Calendar and write it there. At the time of entering details of dependents, you need to enter the Iqama number of sponsor in place of Sponsor ID. A female cannot travel without male mahram, so you also have to provide details of the mahram travelling with her along with his relationship with her. After filling all these details, click on the submit button.

A new page will open where you need to select some additional services at some additional charges. Just check the respective boxes if you want them to be included in your package and click on “Submit”.
A new page will open where you have to agree with the terms and conditions. However, before agreeing to the terms and conditions, read the following bullets carefully. If you agree with the given details, just click on the “agree” button given at the end of the page.
  • Payment must be made within 72 hours to avoid automatic reservation cancellation.
  • Payments have to be made in full, failure to do so in allowed time frame will cancel the reservation automatically.
  • Reservation phone number cannot be used in more than one reservation.

Once you have deposited the fee to the given IBAN number, you will have to wait for a couple of days and check your status again on the website of Ministry of Hajj. If your status has been changed to “Paid Applicant”, it means you are done with everything. Now wait for further two days and Hajj permit will be available on the website of Ministry of Interior.
