Recently Rajab Mahoos Al-Malki most senior weaver of Holy Kaaba passed away after 47 years of his proud service for weaving Holy cloth of Kaaba. In KSA there is a special city allocated for preparation of holy black cloth known as Kiswa. The most senior weaver not only gave his life for preparation of Kiswa but also has done his job with enthusiasm and passion. He passed away at the age of 90 in a private hospital. He got retired in 2004 from his job but all the life he kept on sharing his tremendous experience of weaving of Holy Kiswa. He used to feel contented for this honorable job. In every gathering or public place, where he used to share his view with people, he used to talk a major portion about his experience to be weaver of Kiswa.
The Holy Kaaba is considered as central point of Islamic community all over the world. It is a symbol of unity, strength and obedience of Muslim Ummah towards Allah and Islam. The duties of Holy mosque Haram are performed by not only salaried employees but Muslims all over the world proudly visit Saudi Arabia for performing several duties inside Haram Mosque. Clothing of Kaaba is considered as one of the most precious jobs ever in life for a Muslim. People across the world witness this event keenly and media channels cover such event. People who are giving services in regard of Holy mosque for construction, cloth making, designing, cleaning and management feel pride to do this job. Same was the case with Mahoos Al Maliki, he proudly managed teams of tailors and embroiders who participated in preparation of Kiswa for about 5 decades. Many of tailors and workers learnt so many things from him during his supervision. He was an expert in his work and beautifully maintained novelty of Kiswa for years.
Al Maliki was a polite and well-mannered person who was famous for his humble nature and courtesy among his colleagues, juniors and students. He was borne in 1930 in a small village near Makkah. He started working in preparation of Kiswa with one of his colleague Abdul Raheem Amin Bokhari in order to assist him for about six months. From that time he started working as a professional weaver of Kiswa. It was the start of his Holy profession. It was his first assignment on his work and he performed his duty well even for the very first experience of professional weaving at such a large scale.
His very next assignment was weaving of Kiswa during the era of Late king Faisal Bin Abdulaziz. He put his utmost energies to show the world that the most beautiful art work is on Kaaba cloth. It was not only his job but his passion as well. He gave his heart and soul to do his work and always met the deadlines with quality work. The world witnessed beautiful Kiswa designs for more than 5 decades made under his supervision. I request each and every one of you to pray for his eternal life.
