An expat is a person who is residing in a country temporarily or permanently which is now his native country. Immigrant and expats would be the burden on the economy of a country in which they are living for earning. Saudi has always been a favorite destination for expats and the state authorities also welcomed the expats whole heartedly. Today, this highly increasing number of expats is of great concern for the Saudi society. An immigrant enjoys those services or facilities which is basically the right of the citizens of that country.
European countries take preventive measures to stop the illegal immigrants to enter into their countries. In past few years, Europe has allowed entry for the inexperience and untrained worker as per required. But as the number of expatriate increased, the result was in the shape of complains and criticize by the nationals because of the delay and interruption in the services such as medical, transportation etc. That is why; European countries think twice before allowing immigrants into their country and enjoy or share the fundamental necessities such as water, health, education and electricity.
Some gulf countries are decided to levy foreign workers to meet the demands of the extra expenditure. By increasing the health care fees which are to be paid by the expats would have positive impact on individual and national economy. And it would also reduce economic burden on the budget and ease the difficulty caused due to decreasing prices of oil. Just imagine, the numerous expats enjoying the free medical services by government and the money which they save because of free health care, would send it to their families back in their countries. Many foreign immigrant or expat are in government as well as private hospitals and getting VIP services which are the first right of the Saudi people such as occupying hospital bed while a Saudi misses the health care due to all this.
Some health ministry authorities would decide that the expat should pay the health fees adequate to the services the expatriates accessed. Another disadvantage of increasing number of expats in the country is that it would deprive the citizen of these countries from jobs and causes unemployment. This also leads to low earning in the private division. It is to be agreed that the increasing number of expatriate workers in the Kingdom and other countries has turn out to be a cause of worry for governments in particular and also for the public in general.
In the same way, we agree that the growing requirement for unskilled workers will have negatively affect the wages of citizens working in the private zone. The private sector is part and parcel of the state, to protect national interests employ more Saudis in private companies.
