7 Remarkable things about Hazrat Khadijah (R.A)

Throughout the Arabian Peninsula and the world, women were treated merely as slaves and had no rights. Whenever a baby girl was born, it was a matter of disgrace to the family. With the evolution of Islam, it spread the principle of equality and Allah proved it by creating Adam and Eve from the same soul. Every woman according to Islam is born with certain rights, right to be respected, right to inheritance, to own property, to be educated, to work and to enter contacts even after marriage. Many have this perception that Islam does not give women the liberty to choose and take decisions for them, however, Islamic law which is commonly referred to as the Shariah Law is very strict about having the woman’s consent for marriage. The first person to ever convert to Islam was no other than Hazrat Khadijah (R.A), wife of the Holy Prophet who was also known as “Tahira” (the pious one). HazratKhadijah (R.A) married the prophet of Islam when she was 40 and he was 25. Together they six children: two sons, Qasim and Abdullah, and 4 daughters: Zainub, Ruqqaiya, Umme Kulthum and Fatimah.
