34 Years old Saudi Father donates his Kidney and Liver to save Young Daughter

A child can never truly, nor completely repay their debt to their parents. Neither will we truly repay all the blessings bestowed upon us by our parents i.e. house, food, clothes, education etc. but more importantly the time and energy they have put into ensuring that you may live a good life. However even our children will not be able to repay the debts of the time energy and least importantly money that we as parents have put into them.  What I have just written above may seem strange, but it is the truth, and that’s what makes parenting or being a parent such a beautiful thing. The selfless act of raising another human being to the best of your ability regardless of yourself is truly what parenthood is all about.

Nevertheless, even as the children grow up and turn into teens, then adults and then about the same age as you were when they were born, parents will never stop thinking of their offspring as their children and thus worrying for them just as if they were still under 18 and require adult supervision. Till their last breathe a parent will do anything to protect their offspring regardless of their own health. This is exactly what a father has gone in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It has been reported that a Saudi man has donated one of his kidneys and also part of his own liver to ensure that the life of his three year old daughter could be saved.

A team of doctors at the Riyadh’s King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children operated on the father for almost 10 hours and successfully surgically removed the required organs from the body of the 34 year old man. The brave father was Abdul Aziz Al Baidani whose organs were then successfully transplanted into the daughter’s body. The head of the surgery and transplantation center in the hospital, Dr. Khaled Abdullah, stated that the father of the young girl had left the medical facility in pristine health while the daughter has been still kept under medical observation at the central care unit. He also added that the daughter is expected to return to her home in about a week.

The daughter continued on, thanking and congratulating the courage and selfless deed of the father which was the key element which helped save the life of the young girl. Dr. Abdullah stated that the condition of the little girl was serious as her liver and kidney had both failed. Just last week another such story had come to light when two patients who had been admitted in Riyadh and Jeddah had their lives saved when they received kidneys and liver of an expatriate who remained in a brain dead state in a hospital in the Holy city of Makkah.

The act of the father and many other organ donors around the world can help save many lives even after theirs has ended, and personally I believe that is beautiful.
