Saudi Arabia has one of the largest expatriate workforce populations in the entire world. It is estimated that the expatriate workforce population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia makes up for almost one third of the total population of the Kingdom. With such a large number of expatriates working in the Kingdom, naturally laws, rules and regulations had to be put into place to ensure that everything functions perfectly. The Huroob Status in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered of that person who is an absconder. Simply put, it means that the expatriate employee has ran away from their employee or company or even if he hasn’t paid up his sponsor on time.
When one expatriate is put on the Huroob list, it means that the sponsor has gone to Jawazat regarding the expatriate, and now the sponsor and the expatriate have no connection, and thus the sponsor is not responsible for their actions. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when an expatriate gets the Huroob status, it is considered to be almost impossible to have it removed. However we have some tips which can actually help you get your Huroob status removed, if in case you ever do. Firstly it is important that you realize that if you really want to have your Huroob status removed it is important that you pay up the fines or any other payments which need to be made.
Typically those expatriate employees who are put on the Huroob list have to face jail time before being deported from the country; however the punishments do not end with the deportation; however there is a way in which one can avoid jail time and also leave the Kingdom in Huroob Status. Hence it is a good idea for you to check on you Huroob status regularly and try your hardest not to be put in the Huroob list.
This post has been derived from one actual successful attempt at the removal of the Huroob status of an expatriate. One Pakistani man took the matter of his Huroob status to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, after which the Supreme Court contacted the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh and subsequently briefed them on the issue. The Embassy then took up the matter to be solved and contacted the Pakistani expatriate to learn more about the case in hand and the entirety of the situation. Subsequently they provided a document which was against his Huroob status.
The expatriate then visited the Amara office and Police station and filed his report. Subsequently the report was then submitted to the Maktab Al Amal. After the investigation had been thoroughly completed they contacted the Kafeel and informed him to pay the dues to the Pakistani expatriate and to also return his passport.
