30 Common English Mistakes made by the people living in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has a large population who can understand and speak English. Though we realize that the national language of most of the expatriates living in Saudi Arabia s not English; we must however highlight a few common mistakes in the English language which they make most commonly. If English is not your mother tongue I am sure the following table will help you out. One of the most common mistakes done by even the most well educated people is confusing “loosing” to losing , when talking about a situation which implies winning or losing. People also sometimes refer to a “loser” as a looser. Come on guys what is a LOOSER? LOOSER may refer to something which is looser in fitting than another article of clothing.

Personally, though there are several mistakes here which even I make in my daily life and I didn’t know it. So, there is no need to worry if you find out there is something wrong, it is never too late to learn something new. Another common mistake done by the people is when they say they are giving an exam. You are not giving the exam; you are taking the exam. You can also call it attempting an exam. Though these might seem like minor mistakes and most people would over look them generally, if somebody catches on to such mistakes, they might have a sharper eye for any other mistakes which there might be in a spoken conversation or a written piece.

Fixing these small or relatively minor mistakes will provide a polish or finishing touch to your spoken and written English which will set you apart from most people who will still be doing the same mistakes which have been listed above. This might provide you the edge you need in achieving betterment. So, go over the table and fix those mistakes which you might be doing, and see your command over the English language (whether it is spoken or written) improve in no time.
